Crystal Palace continued their impressive form as Marc Guéhi’s late header secured a 2-1 victory away at Fulham, pushing Palace into the Premier League’s top four. The defender rose at the near post to meet a corner near the end of the match, stunning Marco Silva’s side and sealing Palace’s third win over Fulham within a year.
Eddie Nketiah opened the scoring for Palace on his first league start of the season, finishing sharply after excellent build-up play from Adam Wharton and Tyrick Mitchell. Fulham hit back with a moment of brilliance from Harry Wilson, who curled in a superb equaliser after combining with Raúl Jiménez.
Both sides had chances in a fast, open game, including a superb save from Dean Henderson to deny Emile Smith Rowe. Fulham thought they had taken the lead when Smith Rowe scored after Calvin Bassey hit the post, but VAR ruled Samuel Chukwueze offside in the buildup.
The game looked set for a draw until Guéhi struck late, sparking celebrations among the away fans. Palace manager Oliver Glasner praised his side’s resilience despite a heavy fixture schedule, while Silva lamented his team’s lack of cutting edge in key moments.
Palace now look like surprise top-four contenders, and with momentum building, supporters are beginning to dream about what this team could achieve if strengthened in January.
