Fulham stun Spurs with two early goals

Fulham deliver a shock in London. The visitors score twice in the first six minutes and secure their first away win of the season. Kenny Tete opens the scoring with his first goal in almost two years. His shot from the edge of the area takes a deflection and finds the net. Moments later comes the next blow. Guglielmo Vicario rushes out of his box and loses the ball. Harry Wilson reacts quickly and curls the ball into the empty net from 35 yards. Spurs look completely overwhelmed. Samuel Chukwueze later hits the post and keeps the hosts under pressure.
After the break Spurs show a different attitude. Mohammed Kudus volleys into the top corner and brings hope back to the stands. But the hosts fail to find an equaliser and suffer another setback. The players leave the pitch to loud boos. Spurs now sit tenth. Fulham trail them by only one point.

Spurs’ nightmare half exposes deep problems

Spurs continue their erratic form. A brave display against Paris midweek is followed by a chaotic first half. The club suffer their tenth home defeat of 2025. They have never lost more than ten home league games in a single year. The defence leaves gaps and the attack offers little threat. For the first goal, Chukwueze slips a pass between two defenders before finding Tete. Soon after, Vicario causes the second goal. He charges out to chase a long ball, moves towards the corner and plays a weak clearance straight to Wilson.
The crowd lose patience fast. Vicario receives boos at his next touch. Spurs have never trailed a home league match by two goals after six minutes before. Chukwueze then hits the post after Spurs fail to clear a corner. Later he rounds Vicario but Micky van de Ven denies him an open goal.
Spurs’ attacking attempts remain toothless in the first half. Sixteen open-play crosses fail to reach a teammate. They do not create a single realistic chance. The second half shows more intent, but the issues persist. Only two shots hit the target. Kudus scores the lone goal after a clever pass from Lucas Bergvall.

Fulham finish the job in 20 dominant minutes

Fulham need only a strong early spell to decide the match. The team play with confidence and urgency and gain a quick reward. Before this match they have collected just one point away from home. Their last away league win comes in May, also against a Frank-coached side. Their previous win at Tottenham dates back twelve years.
Chukwueze makes his first start since joining on loan from AC Milan. Spurs cannot handle his pace and movement. The 26-year-old Nigerian creates Tete’s opener, strikes the post and almost earns another big chance. Fulham punish Vicario’s poor pass without hesitation. Raul Jimenez presses the keeper and forces the mistake. The visitors stay calm. Wilson exchanges a quick one-two with Josh King and scores from 36.6 metres.
That strike is the second-longest Premier League goal of the season. Both long-range goals come on the same day, with only Tyler Adams scoring from further out. After their explosive start Fulham stop creating chances for a long spell, taking no shots between the 13th and 73rd minute. Kevin almost adds a late third.

    What comes next

Both teams return to league action on Tuesday. Fulham host Manchester City at 19:30 GMT. Spurs travel to Newcastle for a 20:15 kick-off.
