Armstrong Joins Wolves Amid Deadline Day Moves

Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed the signing of striker Adam Armstrong from Southampton for an initial fee of £7 million. The 28-year-old has penned a three-and-a-half-year deal at Molineux, arriving shortly after the club sold Jorgen Strand Larsen to Crystal Palace for £48 million. Wolves are also preparing for the loan arrival of midfielder Angel Gomes from Marseille.

    Manager Welcomes New Goal Threat

Wolves boss Rob Edwards expressed excitement over the new signing, calling Armstrong a “competitor” and a proven goalscorer. “Adam’s really keen to play for Wolves and bring something positive to the group, both on and off the pitch,” Edwards said. “He’s someone I’ve admired for a long time. He can play as a nine or off the sides, but he’s much more than that.”

    Armstrong’s Career So Far

Armstrong spent four-and-a-half years at Southampton, scoring 43 goals in 174 appearances after joining from Blackburn Rovers in 2021. He has netted 11 times in 32 games this season and began his career at Newcastle United, including a loan spell at West Bromwich Albion last season. His arrival comes as Wolves sit bottom of the Premier League, 18 points from safety, with relegation to the Championship likely.
