    United Faces New Striker Setback

    Sesko’s Injury Disrupts Attack Plans

Manchester United forward Benjamin Sesko will miss about a month after injuring his knee at Tottenham. He joined United from RB Leipzig for £74m in August. He took a knock during the 2-2 draw on 8 November and left the field after entering as a second-half substitute.

Ruben Amorim said after the match that he lacked clarity on the severity. Club officials downplayed fears of a major issue and reassured staff about his long-term fitness. Doctors later ruled Sesko out of Slovenia’s World Cup qualifiers. Medical staff now expect him to miss around four weeks, though they have not confirmed a firm timeline.

    Amorim Prepares Squad Amid Absences

Amorim plans to update reporters at a news conference before Monday’s Premier League clash with Everton at Old Trafford. The injury period will likely overlap with the departures of Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo for the Africa Cup of Nations, which starts in Morocco on 21 December.

Premier League clubs, including United, will not need to release players at the earliest allowed moment. United will host Bournemouth on 15 December and expect to keep their squad intact for that fixture. Sesko has scored two goals in 12 appearances since joining the club.

    International Duties Add Pressure

United now must navigate a congested schedule while losing key forwards to international commitments. Coaches expect the AFCON to thin the squad during a crucial phase of the season. Sesko’s absence intensifies the need for other attackers to contribute consistently.

Amorim continues to reorganize the lineup, reinforce depth, and prepare replacements while Sesko begins rehabilitation. Staff hope he returns swiftly to help stabilize United’s evolving attack.
