A 47-year-old man from Liverpool, arrested for allegedly racially abusing Bournemouth player Antoine Semenyo during the Premier League match at Anfield, has been released on conditional bail. He is banned from attending any regulated football matches in the UK and must stay at least one mile away from designated football stadiums, according to Merseyside police. The investigation is ongoing.

    Support for Semenyo Amid Incident

The match was briefly paused in the first half after Semenyo reported the abuse to the referee. Despite the incident, he scored twice in the second half, though Liverpool won 4-2. FIFA president Gianni Infantino condemned the racist behavior and promised support through the Players’ Voice Panel. Semenyo thanked his teammates, Liverpool, match officials, and the football community for their support.
