Potential Serie A Showdown with Rowe
Adrien Rabiot, the French international who was sidelined at Olympique Marseille following a violent locker room altercation, is continuing his career in Italy. The 30-year-old has signed with AC Milan on a deal running until June 30, 2028.
Adding intrigue, Jonathan Rowe, the 22-year-old English U21 international involved in the same incident, is also now playing in Italy. Rowe joined FC Bologna this summer on a contract through June 2029, setting the stage for a possible Serie A confrontation.
Milan and Bologna are scheduled to face each other on September 14, meaning Rabiot and Rowe could meet as opponents on the field. Both players were released by Marseille after the infamous locker room fight. “What happened was extremely serious and violent, something I have never seen before,” OM president Pablo Longoria told AFP.
Rowe had spent the previous season on loan from Norwich City before Marseille secured him permanently for €14.5 million this summer. Rabiot, a 53-time French international, had also been with the club since the start of last season. Longoria added: “As a club, we are the victims. A fight like this has never been seen in football before.”
