Besiktas secure Abraham from Roma
Besiktas have completed an £11.2 million deal to sign Tammy Abraham from Roma. The Turkish club immediately plans to sell the striker to Aston Villa. Abraham traveled to the UK on Friday and underwent a medical on Saturday after Villa agreed an £18 million deal with Besiktas.
The transfer follows a loan agreement last summer, in which Besiktas had an obligation to buy Abraham. The club initially did not want to sell him but agreed to let him return to England.
Abraham’s record at Besiktas
The 28-year-old striker has earned 11 caps for England and scored 12 goals in 24 games for Besiktas. The Turkish club confirmed the deal, stating that the transfer conditions were fulfilled. They added that a total of 13 million euros will be paid to Roma for the permanent move.
Career journey from Chelsea to Italy
Abraham joined Roma from Chelsea in 2021 for £34 million. He scored 39 goals in 120 appearances and helped Roma win the Europa Conference League in 2022.
He spent the 2024-25 season on loan at AC Milan, netting 10 goals in 44 games. Besiktas’ quick purchase and resale reflects the striker’s continued demand in European football.
