Contract Discussions Underway
Bayern Munich are in discussions with England captain Harry Kane about extending his stay at the club, according to sporting director Max Eberl. Kane, 32, joined the German giants from Tottenham in August 2023 on a four-year deal worth an initial €100 million (£86.4m). Since arriving, he has scored 119 goals and provided 30 assists in 126 appearances, helping Bayern capture the 2024-25 Bundesliga title—his first major trophy.
Record-Breaking Form
This season, Kane has continued his prolific scoring, netting 34 goals in 30 games, including 21 in 19 Bundesliga matches. He is chasing Robert Lewandowski’s record of 41 goals in a single Bundesliga season while also playing a key role in Bayern securing second place in their Champions League group with one match remaining. Kane previously indicated in October that he could see himself staying in Munich, with his desire to return to the Premier League having “gone down a little bit.”
Settled in Munich
Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen emphasized that Kane and his family are well-settled in the city. “Harry has great confidence in us and he feels comfortable in Munich,” Dreesen said. “He and his family are settled in. Therefore we’ve got absolutely no reason to rush.” The club appears focused on securing Kane’s long-term future without forcing immediate decisions.
