Aston Villa booked their place in the Europa League last 16 with a 1-0 win away to Fenerbahce, as Jadon Sancho scored his first goal for the club. Sancho’s 25th-minute header proved decisive in a hostile atmosphere in Istanbul, while stand-in goalkeeper Marco Bizot made eight saves to preserve Villa’s sixth win from seven European games and end Fenerbahce’s unbeaten home run.

Ten-man Celtic surrendered a two-goal lead but clung on for a valuable 2-2 draw at Bologna. Reo Hatate scored early before being sent off, and Auston Trusty doubled the lead. Bologna hit back through Thijs Dallinga and Jonathan Rowe. Celtic sit on eight points and can secure progress with a final-day win.

At Ibrox, Rangers beat Ludogorets 1-0 thanks to Mohamed Diomande, extending their winning run despite elimination being confirmed elsewhere.

Elsewhere, Lyon edged Young Boys 1-0 with a stoppage-time goal from Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Freiburg beat Maccabi Tel-Aviv 1-0, and SK Brann rescued a dramatic 3-3 draw against Midtjylland.
