Chukwuemeka close to return – Anselmino deal still uncertain
Borussia Dortmund are on the brink of bringing back a key target – and could even unveil two new signings at once.
The move for Carney Chukwuemeka is in its final stages. According to SPORT1, the Chelsea midfielder is set to fly from England to the Ruhr region on Sunday evening. The 20-year-old, who previously spent half a season on loan at BVB, is expected to land in Paderborn on a private jet – a common practice in Dortmund’s transfer dealings. However, the flight could also be redirected to Dortmund at short notice.
While Chukwuemeka’s return now looks like a done deal, the situation around Aarón Anselmino remains unresolved. It is still unclear whether the Chelsea talent will be arriving in Germany at the same time.
Kehl hints at further moves
Following Dortmund’s 3-3 draw in their Bundesliga opener against FC St. Pauli, sporting director Sebastian Kehl spoke cautiously but left the door open for more signings: “We’re working on a few things, and I’m very optimistic that we’ll be able to finalize something in the coming week.”
